		<description>Hi Karen,
I enjoyed reading about the goldfinches. Tomorrow I'll participate in Ithaca's Audubon Bird Count and while there won't be any goldfinches, we'll have downy and hairy woodpeckers, juncos, and redpolls as well as the usual chickadees, cardinals, blue jays, and blackbirds. Maybe I'll see a bluebird.

We had about 4 inches of snow last night, which was a blessing since the driveway had become a giant glacier. It's easier to drive on the snow.

It was lovely to see you and Thom at Christmas.

Happy New Year.</description>
